In a house on the edge of a small town lived two children—Hannah and Jack.
They were not like something out of a fairy tale. They were better. They were real.
Hannah was the older one. She was born first, and from the very beginning she was like a little spark: sharp, sometimes a bit too curious, but with a heart like a house—the whole world could have fit inside it. She was interested in things that other children found boring. She asked about everything. Why do leaves fall? How does electricity work? Do unicorns really not exist?
