The Story of Storylandia. It All Started with One Question.

Some projects start with market research. Others start because someone spotted a gap in what was already out there. Storylandia started for a much simpler reason. It started with one question, asked by a child.

"Daddy… are there kids like me in stories too?"

One of Storylandia's founders heard that question from his son, who uses a wheelchair. It sounds like a very simple question, and yet it made something clear to us that we hadn't quite seen before.

Not every child finds themselves in stories. Not every child can see themselves in the hero. Not every child gets the feeling that this story could just as easily have happened to them.

That was the moment the idea was born: to build a place where every child could become the hero of their own story. That is how Storylandia began.

We wanted to build more than a library of stories

From the very beginning, we knew we didn't want to build yet another app full of ready-made stories. What we wanted was a place that would stretch a child's imagination, bring families together, and turn reading or listening at bedtime into an everyday ritual.

That's why Storylandia brings a few worlds together. On one side, the classic stories today's parents grew up with. On the other, AI, which makes it possible to create brand-new stories shaped around one particular child.

Every child deserves a story of their own

Children are not all the same. Some love dinosaurs. Others dream about space. Some are brave. Others are still learning how to be.

There are children who never sit still and children who are perfectly calm, children who are shy and children who walk into any room like they own it — and children living with all kinds of health and developmental challenges. At Storylandia, we want to show that every one of those stories matters just as much.

So we're building a place where any child can be the hero. Exactly as they are.

We built Storylandia together with parents and specialists

From day one, it mattered to us that Storylandia not be a technology project and nothing more. We spent months developing the app through the Mazovian Startupolis incubator, checking our thinking with psychologists and child development specialists, and talking with parents who shared what their own evenings actually look like.

Every new version of the app grew out of real conversations and real feedback. To this day, many of our features exist for one reason: a parent using Storylandia asked for them.

Technology should support parents, not replace them

Artificial intelligence is a tool for us. Never the point in itself.

We don't want the app to take the place of reading together. Quite the opposite. We want it to help families build new rituals of their own.

That's why parents can sit down with their child and create a story together — choosing the characters, the subject, where it all happens, even the values the story carries. That's what personalization really does: it makes it so much easier for children to get drawn in. Because they're listening to a story that is genuinely about them.

We're bringing the classics along with us

We also knew from the start that we wanted to hold on to what makes stories beautiful in the first place. So alongside the stories created with AI, Storylandia carries classic tales read by some of Poland's finest actors.

Our library includes the voices of Wojciech Malajkat, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Magdalena Różczka, and Joanna Pach-Żbikowska, among others. These are the stories many parents remember from their own childhood — and can now discover again, this time with their children.

This is only the beginning

Storylandia grows every week. We're steadily adding new stories, new narrators, original series, AI features, and whatever else our users ask us for.

Our mission isn't to build the biggest library of children's stories. We want to build the best place for parents who want to spend time with their children that's actually worth something. Because we believe that even in a world full of screens, nothing replaces a story you lived through together.

And if Storylandia makes even one child feel that this story was made just for them, we'll know the journey was worth starting.
